Could you explain to us what does Smaart Recruitment do and how was it founded?
We are an innovative, award-winning recruitment agency that has been finding talented staff for Australian businesses since 2005. We are an energized team of experts that work together to find the best talent in the market for your organization. We take the time to get to know your business and understand that cultural fit is as important as the skills and knowledge required.
We would love to know how do you participate in the Smaart team, but mostly, who are you when you are not working?
I have the privilege of starting and building our business here in SA as the Commercial Manager. We are in the process of hiring a new addition to the SMAART Adelaide team which is very exciting after just 4 short months!
When I’m not working, you’ll find me chasing my daughter around the playground, sampling one of SA’s fine red wines or water skiing.
What is it that you enjoy the most about Smaart Recruitment and your participation with the company?
Our company culture is second to none and makes SMAART very special, however, I love recruitment because of the impact we can make on someone’s life and we get to make a real difference.
Now getting a bit more serious…How do you see the future of Recruitment?
I see the future of recruitment to be very strong although I think we are seeing a shift in the types of roles we are needing to recruit for. Consumer demand and the advancement of technology is playing a big part in this. I’m also seeing a huge shift in the competencies required in a job now as opposed to 5 years ago.
What would be your piece of advice you would give to your candidates?
- Research the job and company you are applying for before you apply
- Always tailor your resume to reflect the role you are applying for and address the key criteria
- Always have questions for the interviewer
- Ask for the job at the end of the interview letting the interviewer know of your interest in the role.
